NewShared links now open on lisview.com. Old links still work.

Why shared links open on lisview.com

Shared files open on lisview.com while your account stays on linkinseconds.com. Why, what happens to older links, and what to know.

Files you share open on lisview.com, for example lisview.com/q3-report for a file and lisview.com/b/team-photos for an album. Your account, sign-in, dashboard and billing stay on linkinseconds.com. Both domains belong to Link in Seconds.

Why a separate domain#

  • Your links keep working. Spam filters, email providers and internet providers judge a whole domain. On a shared domain, one person's bad upload can get the domain flagged and break everyone's links. Keeping shared files apart from the app limits the damage and keeps sign-in and payments reachable.
  • Your account stays separate from shared files. Pages on lisview.com can't read your linkinseconds.com sign-in.
  • Short links. A file link is just lisview.com/your-link-name.

Links made before the move keep working: a linkinseconds.com/p/… or linkinseconds.com/b/… link opens the same file or album on lisview.com, and old QR codes and embeds keep working too. Links made after the move, and older links whose file or name you change, open only on lisview.com; on linkinseconds.com they show where the file now lives.

Things to know#

  • Password and email-gate links ask the viewer once more on lisview.com, because browsers keep sign-ins separately for each domain.
  • The dashboard, QR codes, embed codes, emails and the API all give you lisview.com links. Copy them from there.
  • Want links on your own address instead? Use a custom domain, free on every plan.
