MCP server

Connect Claude, Cursor or any MCP client to Link in Seconds so your AI assistant can publish files and hand you the link.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is how AI assistants call outside tools. Our MCP server gives your assistant one new ability: publish a file and hand you the link. Ask Claude to “put this report online” and it uploads the file to your account and replies with a linkinseconds.com/p/… URL that opens in any browser.

1You ask

“Publish this page as a link”

2Your assistant

Calls upload_file

3Link in Seconds

Checks, scans, publishes

4You get the link

Ready to share

Set up your client#

The fastest path, if you use Claude Code:

Shell
claude mcp add --transport http linkinseconds https://linkinseconds.com/api/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer lis_YOUR_KEY"

What you can ask#

  • “Build a one-page summary of this data as HTML and publish it as a link.”
  • “Upload report.pdf and give me a link I can send to the client.”
  • “Publish this Markdown file and call the link ‘Release notes’.”
  • “What links did I publish this week?”

Files up to 3 MB go inline. For bigger files the assistant gets a one-time upload URL and sends the file directly, if it can run commands (like Claude Code). Details in the tools reference.

Same rules as the website#

The MCP server is a thin layer over the same upload pipeline as the website. Your plan's limits apply, every file is type-checked and scanned, and Free accounts can make up to 30 uploads an hour with a key. Your assistant can not change link settings or delete links; you do that in the dashboard.

Treat the key like a password

The key in your MCP config can publish to your account. Use a separate key per client, keep config files with keys out of git, and delete a key on the API keys page if a laptop or repo is exposed.
