Papermark free plan limits (2026): what you get before you pay
Papermark free: 50 links, one seat
Papermark's free plan costs €0 and gives you 50 links, 50 documents, unlimited visitors, page-by-page analytics and 1 team member, per Papermark's pricing page, checked October 2026. The next plan up, Pro, is listed from €24 a month billed yearly. For one person sharing a pitch deck or a few proposals, the free plan goes a long way; the single seat and the document cap are what usually push teams to pay.
One note on sources: Papermark's own blog posts describe the free plan in slightly different ways, so every number here comes from the pricing page only.

What does each limit mean in practice?
50 links and 50 documents
A document is the file you upload; a link is a shareable address for it. In tools like this you can usually make several links for one document (one per investor, say) to see who opened which, so links run out first. Fifty of each is plenty for a single fundraising round or a sales pipeline. It gets tight if you keep every old version of every deck.
Unlimited visitors
There is no cap on how many people open your links. That matters: a viewer cap is the limit that bites hardest when a deck gets forwarded, and Papermark does not have one on the free plan.
Page-by-page analytics
You see how long each visitor spent on each page. That is the main reason people choose a DocSend-style tool over an attachment, and it is on the free plan.
One team member
The free plan is for one person. If a co-founder or a sales colleague needs to share from the same account, that is where Papermark expects you to upgrade.
What does Papermark do well?
- Data rooms. Papermark is built around data rooms for fundraising and due diligence: folders of documents behind one link, with per-visitor tracking. If you need a data room, it is a strong pick.
- Open source. The code is public on GitHub and there is a self-hosting guide, which few tools in this space offer.
- A generous free tier. Unlimited visitors and page-by-page analytics at €0 is a better free deal than most document-tracking tools.
How does it compare with Link in Seconds?
Link in Seconds is not a data room. It turns any file into a link that opens in the browser, with analytics and sharing controls free on every plan. Here is how the free plans line up.
| Papermark Free | Link in Seconds Free | |
|---|---|---|
| Links on the free plan | 50 | 50 live at a time (delete one to free a slot) |
| Document cap | 50 documents | No separate cap; 500 MB of storage |
| Visitors | Unlimited | Unlimited, no account to view |
| Page-by-page analytics | Yes | Yes, on every plan |
| File types | Built around documents and data rooms | PDFs, Word, Excel, images, video, audio, HTML |
| Data rooms | Yes, its core product | No: albums group files, but there is no data room |
| Open source | Yes | No |
On Link in Seconds, password, expiry date, view limit, view-only, email gate, a PDF watermark, custom domains and a custom link name are free, and links never expire. You need a free account to upload (Google or an emailed code, no card); viewers need none. The full side-by-side lives on our Papermark alternative page, and if you are also weighing DocSend, see DocSend vs Papermark.
Which should you pick?
- A data room for a raise or due diligence: Papermark.
- You want to self-host: Papermark, after reading its license terms.
- One deck, proposal or PDF, tracked page by page: either works on the free plan. Link in Seconds also handles video, images and HTML. Read send a pitch deck and see who opened it for the workflow.
