  • Blazingly fast
  • End-to-end encrypted

When to use this — and when not to

Use Direct Send when

  • The file is too big for email or a normal upload cap.
  • You're both at your devices right now — a call, a desk, a meeting.
  • You'd rather the file never sat on anyone's server, including ours.
  • You're moving something between your own phone and laptop.

Use a normal link when

  • They'll open it later, or you don't know when.
  • You want to send it to a group, or post it somewhere.
  • You need view tracking, a password, or a QR that keeps working.
  • You want the file to still be there next week.
Make a normal link

The one catch, stated plainly.A direct connection needs both devices online at the same time, with both tabs open. A few networks — strict office firewalls, some VPNs — block direct connections entirely, and when that happens we'll tell you rather than spin. A normal upload link works everywhere.
