Leave downloads on for a final plan, or switch them off for a draft so people can look but not save it. On Pro, add a password, an expiry date or a watermark on the PDF preview.

A floor plan is all small text: dimensions, room labels, door swings. Sent as a chat image it gets compressed until the numbers smear. As a link, the PDF opens in a viewer with zoom, so a client standing in the empty room can pinch in on the kitchen run and read the measurement. Exported as a vector PDF, the lines and text stay sharp however far they zoom.
The costly mistake with plans is someone working from an old one: the builder with last month's PDF, the kitchen supplier with the version before the wall moved. When the plan lives behind one link, you replace the file and every copy of that link, in every inbox and on every printed QR, now opens the current revision. Put the revision letter and date in the title block so people can tell at a glance.
Early concepts are the ones that get forwarded to three other contractors for a cheaper quote. Switch downloads off and the plan becomes view-only: no download button. On Pro you can add a password, an expiry date after which the link stops opening, and a watermark on the PDF preview. None of this stops a screenshot, but it removes the easy route of saving and forwarding the file.
On Pro you can turn comments on for a link, so a client can write 'can the island be 20 cm shorter?' right on the plan's page, and you get an email. It is not a markup tool; nobody draws on the drawing. But it keeps feedback attached to the plan it is about, instead of scattered across emails about three different versions.
Event venues, markets and trade shows share floor plans with dozens of people who all need the latest one: exhibitors checking their stand, caterers finding the service door, a couple checking the table plan. Put the layout behind one link, print the QR on the exhibitor pack and the entrance sign, and move stands until the last minute without reprinting anything.
A project is rarely one sheet. Upload the ground floor, first floor, elevations, a couple of renders and a short walkthrough video together and they become one album with one link, each sheet also reachable on its own. The album holds up to 500 MB and downloads as one ZIP for the contractor who wants everything.
