Does it play on iPhone?

It depends on the iOS version. Recent versions of Safari can play OGG, but older ones cannot. If you need to reach everyone on Apple devices, share an MP3 or M4A version as well.

Do you convert OGG to MP3?

No. We play the original OGG as uploaded, so there is no re encoding and no quality loss from our side.

How big can an OGG file be?

Up to 100 MB per file on the free plan. OGG is compact, so that is plenty for long recordings and full albums of game audio. Pro raises the limits if you need more.

Open codecs, efficient audio

OGG is a container, most often holding Vorbis for music and game audio, or Opus for speech. Both are open and royalty free, and Opus in particular sounds clear at very low bitrates, which keeps files small.

Where it plays

Chrome, Edge, and Firefox play OGG on desktop and Android. Apple only added OGG support to Safari recently, so listeners on older iPhones or Macs may not be able to play it. If playback fails, the player says so instead of sitting silent, and for Apple heavy audiences an MP3 or M4A copy is the safer choice.
