Do you convert AVIF to another format?

No. We serve the original AVIF file and let the browser decode it. Nothing is re encoded, so the quality is exactly what you exported.

Which browsers can show it?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari all support AVIF. If a reader is on a much older browser the image may not load, and the viewer will say so instead of spinning forever.

How big can the file be?

Up to 100 MB per file on the free plan. AVIF is very compact, so that covers even large, detailed images. Pro raises the limits if you need more.

Modern compression, tiny files

AVIF uses the AV1 codec to pack a lot of detail into a small file, often beating both JPG and WebP on size, and it supports transparency and HDR. A high resolution AVIF link opens quickly even on a slow phone connection.

Works in current browsers

Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari all display AVIF in their current versions. Older browsers, such as Safari on devices that have not been updated in years, may not, so for a very broad audience a JPG copy is still the safest bet.
