File viewers

# Open any file in the browser, then share it as a link

Upload a file and the person you send it to views it right in their browser, on a phone or a laptop, with no app to install and no account to create. Spreadsheets become tables, documents become pages, video and audio stream, and every viewer is read-only.

## Most-used viewers

Each of these formats has its own guide: what the format is, the problems people hit opening it, and exactly what our viewer shows.

## Every other format we open

Upload any of these and the link opens in a matching in-browser viewer. Here is what each one does.

### Audio

Every audio file gets a simple in-page player with a seek bar, and the file streams, so listening starts without a download.

MP3

MP3 plays in every browser, so a podcast cut, voice note or demo track starts with one tap.

M4A

M4A is AAC audio, the format of iPhone Voice Memos, and it plays in the same player on iPhone, Android and desktop.

WAV

WAV is uncompressed, so files are large but lossless. It streams at full quality, which suits mixes and demos you want heard exactly as recorded.

OGG

OGG (Vorbis or Opus audio) plays in Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Safari support is limited, so for iPhone listeners MP3 or M4A is the safer choice.

FLAC

FLAC is lossless audio that is usually much smaller than WAV, and current browsers play it in the same player.

### More video formats

MOV and WebM use the same full-width video player as MP4, with seeking and fullscreen.

MOV

MOV is the QuickTime container iPhones record in. H.264 MOV files play in most browsers; HEVC ones need a browser with HEVC support, so export as MP4 (H.264) if a viewer can't play it.

WebM

WebM (VP8, VP9 or AV1 video) is what many screen recorders save, and it plays in current browsers with seeking and fullscreen.

### Images

Images open at full resolution with zoom, fit to screen and fullscreen, and the toolbar shows the pixel dimensions.

PNG

PNG files are never recompressed, which keeps screenshots, diagrams and text in images sharp at any zoom level.

JPG

JPG photos open as the original file, not a smaller chat-app copy, so you can zoom in to check detail.

GIF

GIFs play and loop in the browser exactly as they were made, animation included.

WebP

WebP images open directly at full size, with no need to convert them to JPG first.

AVIF

AVIF opens in current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge. Older browsers may not decode it.

SVG

SVG is drawn as an image, so it stays crisp at any zoom. Any scripts inside the file are blocked for safety.

### Data and text

Text files up to 2 MB render inline. Bigger ones are offered as a download instead.

JSON

JSON is pretty-printed with indentation, syntax colors and line numbers, so a minified API response becomes readable. Invalid JSON is shown exactly as written.

XML

XML, including sitemaps and feeds, is shown with syntax highlighting and line numbers. We display it and never validate or change it.

YAML

YAML config files (.yaml or .yml) keep their indentation and get syntax highlighting, which matters in a format where spacing carries meaning.

TSV

TSV (tab-separated values) becomes a table with a pinned header row, just like a CSV, showing the first 1,000 rows.

Markdown

Markdown is rendered as a formatted document with headings, lists, links, tables and code blocks (GitHub-flavored), not as raw symbols.

TXT

Plain text and log files open in a clean monospace view with line numbers, a line-wrap toggle and a copy button.

## File viewer questions

Documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, XLS), data and text (CSV, TSV, JSON, XML, YAML, Markdown, TXT), images (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, SVG, plus iPhone HEIC photos, which are converted to JPG on upload), audio (MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC), video (MP4, MOV, WebM) and HTML pages.

No. Every format on this page opens in a normal web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Only the person uploading signs in.

Nobody can change it: every viewer is read-only. Downloads are your choice per link. Turn them off and the download options disappear from the viewer.

Files such as PPTX, old .doc files and ZIP archives can still be shared. The link shows a clean download card instead of a preview, with the same password, expiry and analytics options.

Yes. The free plan covers 50 live links and files up to 250 MB each, and every viewer on this page is included.

## One link, opens on any device

Whatever the format, the flow is the same: upload it, get a clean short link, and the person you send it to opens it in their browser with nothing to install.
