## How do I publish an HTML ZIP as a live website?

To publish an HTML ZIP as a live website, drag the .zip onto the uploader above. We open it, find your index.html, skip operating-system junk, and serve a real multi-page site at a clean URL. Every relative link and asset keeps working and visitors browse it in any browser, no download and no unzip.

### From a ZIP to a URL you can text

Emailing a ZIP makes people download it, unzip it, and dig for the index.html. Publishing it skips all of that: upload once and you get a link that opens the real, browsable site in anyone's browser.

### Every page and link, intact

This is a multi-page site, not a single-file preview. Your index.html can link to about.html and contact.html, share a /css folder, and pull images from /images, and all of it resolves because we preserve your structure and serve from your site's own root.

### Your own domain and readable links

The default link works everywhere, but for anything public you'll want your own name. Connect a domain or subdomain with automatic HTTPS, pick a custom readable link, and add a password or an expiry date when you're sharing something that shouldn't be wide open.

### Re-upload to update, same link

Fixed a typo or added a page? Upload a fresh ZIP and the same address serves the updated site, so every link you've already handed out keeps working and simply shows the latest content. No redeploy, no git, no build server: replacing the ZIP replaces the site.

### What publishing a ZIP does not do

No server-side code. We serve static files only, so a backend, a database, or server-rendered pages are out of scope. Bring built static files and it's a perfect fit.

No executables. We refuse files that don't belong in a website, checking each one by its real bytes rather than trusting the ZIP.

Sites need Pro. Publishing a site from a ZIP is a Pro feature; a single HTML file still works as a free link on any plan.

## How it works

- 1 ### Put your site in a ZIP Gather the folder with your index.html and everything it uses, stylesheets, scripts, images, fonts, and compress it into a single .zip. Inside it your files keep their folder structure, which is what makes the links between your pages work once it's live.

- 2 ### Upload the .zip Drag it onto the card. We open it on our side, find your index.html at the root or inside a common folder, and skip the junk your operating system slips in (like __MACOSX and .DS_Store). What's left is laid out as one clean site.

- 3 ### Open and share the live site Your zipped site is now a live website at a shareable URL. Click through the pages, your CSS styles them and your scripts run, then share the link. On Pro, put it on your own domain with automatic SSL and re-upload anytime to update the same link.

## From a ZIP on your desktop to a URL you can text

A zipped website is a strange in-between state: it's finished, but it's trapped in a file. Emailing the ZIP means the recipient has to download it, unzip it, dig for the index.html, and open it locally, where half the links might break because they were written for a web server. Publishing the ZIP skips all of that. Upload it once and you get a link that opens the real, browsable site in anyone's browser, no download and no unzip. It's the difference between sending someone a website and sending them a URL.

## We handle the messy parts of a real ZIP

ZIPs made on real computers are rarely tidy. Compress a folder on a Mac and you get a hidden __MACOSX folder and .DS_Store files; on Windows you often get a single wrapper folder named after the original. We quietly handle both, skipping the junk metadata and seeing through a lone wrapper folder to serve from your site's real root. You don't have to re-zip things a special way or flatten your folders first. Zip your site the way you normally would and it just works.

## Every page and every link, intact

This isn't a single-file preview, it's a multi-page site. Your index.html can link to about.html and contact.html, those can share a /css folder and pull images from /images, and all of it resolves correctly because we preserve your structure and serve from your site's own root. A stylesheet at assets/site.css, a script at js/app.js, an image at images/hero.jpg, each one loads with the correct type, so the page looks and behaves exactly as you built it.

## Your own domain and readable links

The default link works everywhere, but for anything public you'll want it on your own name. Connect a domain or subdomain and we set up HTTPS automatically, so the site reads as yours in the address bar. Every plan also gets a custom, readable link, plus a password and an expiry date when you're sharing something that shouldn't be wide open. A hosted event site, a class handout, a small business page, a documentation set, all live on a URL you control.

## Re-upload to update, without breaking the link

The version you shared is rarely the last one. Rather than mint a new URL every time you fix a typo or add a page, and leave the old link dead in someone's inbox, you just upload a fresh ZIP. The same address serves the updated site, so every link you've already handed out keeps working and simply shows the latest content. No redeploy step, no git, no build server: replacing the ZIP replaces the site.

## Static and sandboxed, safe for everyone

Your site is served as static files with the correct content type, from its own isolated space, so its JavaScript runs in its own world and can't reach the app around it. We never execute server-side code, and we refuse executables and scripts that don't belong in a website, checking each file by its real bytes rather than trusting the ZIP. That keeps hosting safe for you and for visitors. The honest limit is the flip side of that safety: if your site needs a backend, a database, or server-rendered pages, static hosting isn't the tool, bring built static files and it's a perfect fit.
