## How do I turn a PDF into a link?

To turn a PDF into a link, drop the file in the uploader above and copy the short link. Anyone you send it to reads it right in their browser, no Acrobat, no account, and nothing to download, and every link comes with a QR code and a live view count.

### It opens in the browser, no Acrobat needed

Most "PDF links" force a download before anyone can read a word. This one renders the PDF inline: the page opens and the document is right there, scrollable, on a recruiter's laptop or a client's phone, no plugin and no "can't preview this file" dead-ends. In our own data, 64% of shared files were opened on a phone and the median PDF reader spent 15 seconds actively reading.

### View-only and password on any plan

For a contract or NDA, view-only mode hides the download button so a casual reader doesn't immediately save a local copy. For a gated ebook or a report meant for a specific group, add a password. It deters casual copying, but it's an honest courtesy gate, not copy protection.

### From PDF to a scannable QR code

Every PDF link ships a downloadable QR code. Put it on a menu, flyer, or table tent and the document opens with one tap, then swap the file behind it later, say, when prices change, without reprinting a single code.

### Replace the PDF, keep the same link

PDFs are export artifacts, you tweak the source and re-generate them constantly. On any plan you can replace the file behind a link while keeping the exact same URL, fix a typo in a resume, update a proposal's pricing table, ship v2 of an ebook, and everywhere you already pasted the link serves the new version.

### PDF link limits, and what it does not do

Size: up to 250 MB per PDF on the free plan and 500 MB on Pro. A bigger file can be shrunk with the free PDF compressor first.

It opens in our in-browser PDF viewer, page by page, on any phone or computer. Readers need no PDF app and no account.

The link never expires on its own. It stays up until you delete it or set your own expiry date.

No editing, compressing, or OCR. We serve the exact PDF you upload, byte for byte, so do that in your PDF tool first.

View-only deters casual saving, but it is a courtesy gate, not DRM or copy protection.

Fillable forms open read-only. People can read the fields but not type into them and send it back through the link.

## How to turn a PDF into a link

- 1 ### Upload the exact PDF you want read Drag the file into the box above or click to pick it. Flatten forms and export at final quality first, the link mirrors the file byte-for-byte. Free covers PDFs up to 250 MB; Pro raises it to 500 MB. A 30-page report and a one-page resume both work the same way.

- 2 ### Copy the browser-readable link You get a short, shareable link. Sign in with Google (free) to save it to your dashboard, rename it, and keep the analytics. Every link also comes with a downloadable QR code for print, brochures, business cards, and table tents.

- 3 ### Send it instead of the attachment Paste the link into an email, a job application, a WhatsApp message, or a Slack thread. Opening it loads the PDF in the reader's browser on any phone or laptop, nobody has to save a file to see it, and you get a view count back.

## It reads in the browser, no download to view

This renders the PDF inline: the page opens and the document is right there, scrollable, on the recruiter's laptop or a client's phone. That matters most for the documents you actually want read cover to cover, a resume, a proposal, an ebook. Removing the download-then-open step is often the difference between a PDF that gets skimmed and one that gets ignored. The viewer works without Acrobat, without a plugin, and without the "can't preview this file" dead-ends people hit in cramped email apps.

## Multi-page PDFs stay whole and in order

A 40-page whitepaper or a signed multi-page contract stays a single continuous document, readers scroll through every page in sequence, exactly as you laid it out. Nothing is split into separate images or re-paginated, so page breaks, headers, and a table of contents all survive. Bookmarks and internal cross-references still work. For long reports this is the honest advantage over pasting screenshots or splitting a deck into a photo gallery: the structure a reader relies on to navigate, "see the appendix on page 32", stays intact from first page to last.

## Why a link beats a bounced attachment

Email attachment limits are brutal and inconsistent, Gmail caps at 25 MB, plenty of corporate mail servers reject anything over 10 MB, and a graphics-heavy PDF blows past both. The result is a bounce or a silently stripped attachment the recipient never sees. A link sidesteps all of it: the URL is a few dozen characters, so it sails through any inbox, chat app, or applicant-tracking form that would choke on the file itself. Free covers PDFs up to 250 MB; Pro raises it to 500 MB. It also ends the "did it go to spam?" guessing, with view tracking you can actually tell whether the PDF was opened.

## A PDF link that tracks views and pages read

A plain attachment tells you nothing after you hit send. A PDF link counts every open, and because the PDF is read in our viewer, the analytics go page by page. On every plan you see views, unique visitors, average reading time, devices and countries, plus a bar for each page of the PDF: how many readers reached it and how long they spent on it. It is honest analytics, not surveillance: unless you turn on the email gate, it can't tell you who a reader is. But knowing a proposal was opened three times and read to the pricing page is a signal no file in an inbox gives you.

- ·Pages reached: the share of readers still with you on each page, so you see where people stop.

- ·Time on each page, counted only while the tab is visible, so a PDF left open in the background does not inflate it.

- ·The biggest drop-off, named for you once at least three people have read the PDF.

## Built for the PDFs people actually send

Different documents want different handling. For a resume, a clean custom link name like jane-doe-resume reads better on an application than a filename. For a contract or NDA, view-only mode hides the download button. For a gated ebook or a report you only want a specific group to read, add a password on any plan. For a pitch or whitepaper you're circulating widely, lean on the view analytics to see what's landing. Same converter, tuned to what each PDF is for.

## PDF link vs email attachment vs Google Drive link

Three common ways to get a PDF to someone, and what each one really does.

- ·Email attachment: capped at 25 MB in Gmail and 20 MB in Outlook, it lands as a file the reader has to open in a PDF app, and you never learn if it was read. Fixing a typo means sending a new copy.

- ·Google Drive link: good for editing with your team, but if sharing is not set to Anyone with the link, readers hit a sign-in or Request access page, and you get no page-by-page reading report.

- ·PDF link from this page: the PDF opens in the browser for anyone, with no account, files up to 250 MB on the free plan. You see views and pages read, can replace the file behind the same link, and can add a password, expiry date or view-only mode.

## Password, email gate, watermark: PDF link controls on every plan

A link starts open: anyone with it can read and download the PDF. These switches live in the link's settings, on every plan, and you can change them at any time without changing the URL.

- ·Password and expiry date: only people with the password can open it, and it stops opening on the date you pick.

- ·View-only and a view limit: hide the download button, or let the link open only a set number of times.

- ·Email gate and watermark: ask for an email before the PDF shows, and stamp each page with the reader's email (or "Confidential") and the date.

- ·Custom link name and your own domain: a readable name like acme-proposal, or up to 5 domains you own, such as docs.yoursite.com.

## Embed a PDF on your website

To show the PDF inside your own page instead of linking out, open the link's settings, go to the Sharing tab and copy the code under Embed on your site. It is an iframe that shows the PDF in a clean viewer with no header or footer, full width and 640 pixels tall, which you can change. Because the viewer draws each page itself, it also works on iPhone, where a plain embed or object tag pointing at a .pdf file shows a blank box. Views from the embed are counted, and replacing the PDF updates every page it sits on.

## PDF to link on iPhone or Android

There is no app to install. The converter runs in your phone's browser, and the link you get works the same as one made on a computer.

- ·iPhone: open this page in Safari, tap the upload box, choose Browse and pick the PDF in the Files app. If the PDF is an email or WhatsApp attachment, save it to Files first.

- ·Android: open this page in Chrome, tap the upload box and pick the PDF from Downloads, Files or Google Drive.

- ·Then copy the link and paste it into WhatsApp, a text or an email. The person who opens it reads every page in their own browser.

## PDF to URL: where to put the link once you have it

A PDF converted to a URL works anywhere text works. These are the places people paste it most, and why the link does better than the file there.

- ·Email: paste the link instead of attaching the file, so it never bounces at the 20 to 25 MB limit and you can see when it was opened.

- ·WhatsApp, Slack or a text: the link opens the PDF in the phone's browser instead of a file someone has to download and find.

- ·Instagram or TikTok bio, Linktree: put the PDF link there so a menu, price list or media kit opens in one tap.

- ·A website or job application form: link the PDF as a URL when a form will not take a file or caps uploads at a few MB.

- ·Print: every PDF link comes with a QR code for a table tent, flyer or poster, and you can replace the PDF later without reprinting.

## Turn a PDF into a QR code

Every PDF link comes with a QR code, so you do not need a separate QR generator. Download it from the link in your dashboard as a PNG, put it on a flyer, a restaurant table, a poster or a business card, and a phone camera opens the PDF in one scan. Because the code points at the link, not the file, you can replace the PDF behind it later and the printed code keeps working.

- ·Menus and price lists: update the PDF when prices change and every table's code shows the new version.

- ·Flyers, posters and event handouts: one scan opens the full brochure, schedule or map instead of a cramped printout.

- ·Every scan opens the link, so it shows up in the link's view count like any other visit.
