Send photos without losing quality

You just got back from the trip with 60 great photos, and you want to send the whole batch to the people who were there. So you drop them into WhatsApp, or [attach them to an email](https://linkinseconds.com/send-large-files-via-email), and what lands on the other side is soft, blurry, and half the size it should be. The moment everyone was excited about is now a wall of downsized thumbnails. The photos didn't change. The way you sent them quietly wrecked the quality. Here's why that happens, and how to send a whole batch at full resolution as one clean link instead.

## Why your photos lose quality when you send them

Most everyday sharing tools were never built to move full-resolution images. They're built to move them **cheaply**, which means shrinking them behind your back:

- **WhatsApp and Messenger re-compress everything.** To save bandwidth, chat apps re-encode each photo down to a fraction of its original size. A 6 MB shot can arrive under 1 MB, visibly softer, with the fine detail gone. "Send without compression" is buried, easy to forget, and still capped.

- **Email resizes and bounces.** Attachments are capped around 20-25 MB, so a batch of full-res photos blows past the limit instantly. Some clients "helpfully" shrink images to fit, and you never see the original arrive.

- **Instagram and social posts recompress and go public.** Uploading to a feed runs the photo through heavy compression _and_ turns a private batch into a public performance. Wrong tool for personal or client photos.

- **Screenshots of screenshots.** When people can't open a shared file, they screenshot it and forward that. Every hop loses a little more, until the photo is a copy of a copy.

**The core idea:** quality survives when the _original file_ reaches the other person, not a re-encoded version of it. The trick is to share the file, not push the pixels through an app that re-compresses them.

## The fix: share the batch as one link, at full resolution

Try it while you are reading

Upload a file and get a clean, trackable link with a QR code. Free, and no account for whoever opens it.

[Create a link](https://linkinseconds.com/)

Instead of pushing 60 images through a chat app, put them all in one place and [share a single link](https://linkinseconds.com/share-files-online) to that place. Drop the batch in, get back one clean URL like **linkinseconds.com/b/…**, and send that. When someone opens it:

- **Every photo is the original file.** Nothing is run through chat-app compression, so what people see and save is exactly what your camera captured, ready to print, edit, or keep.

- **The whole batch opens in one viewer.** They scroll the full set on one page in any browser, with no app to install, no account to create, no zip to unpack.

- **Each photo also has its own link.** If someone wants just one shot at full size, they open or save that single image directly.

- **It works on any phone.** The same link opens on an old Android, a new iPhone, or a laptop, and the grandparents don't hit a "request access" wall.

- **One link, and a QR code.** Paste the link into a message, or print the QR on a card or a slide so people scan straight to the gallery.

## Who needs full-quality batch sharing

- **Photographers.** Deliver a wedding, portrait, or event gallery at full resolution as one link the client opens on any device, instead of a heavy zip or a portal nobody logs into.

- **Families and friends.** Share the trip, the birthday, the school play at the quality your camera actually shot, not the WhatsApp mush.

- **Sellers and marketplaces.** Send crisp product photos to a buyer or a listing service without the platform softening every shot.

- **Designers and real-estate agents.** Hand over mockups or property photos that need to stay sharp for a client to judge or print.

## One honest caveat: who can open it

A plain gallery link is viewable by **anyone who has the URL**. That's what makes it effortless to share, but it also means the link isn't secret. If it's forwarded, whoever has it can open the batch. For most family, friend, and public galleries that's exactly what you want.

When the photos are more sensitive (a private client gallery, or anything you want locked down), put a **password** on the album and set an **expiry date** so it stops working after the event. You can also keep a gallery [view-only](https://linkinseconds.com/view-only-file-sharing) so people can look without downloading the originals. These are free on every plan, and they turn a shareable link into a genuinely private one.

## How to do it with Link in Seconds

Open [Link in Seconds](https://linkinseconds.com/) and drop your photos onto the upload card. Sign in once with Google (one tap, no form, no card), and when you add more than one photo they auto-bundle into a single album link (**linkinseconds.com/b/…**), full resolution, each photo reachable on its own link too. Copy it into a message or print the QR code. The people opening it never sign in, the link never expires by default, and you can see how many times the album has been viewed.

### Every link feature free, Pro when you need more room

You can start free, drop the batch in and share the album link, with nobody signing up to view it. A password, an expiry date and analytics on the album are free too, so a private wedding or client gallery stays yours. Pro adds more links, more storage and website hosting. If you're working with single images, the [picture to link](https://linkinseconds.com/image-to-link) tool walks through turning one photo into a shareable link, and for the emotional "whole-album" version see [how to share a whole photo album with one link](https://linkinseconds.com/blog/share-a-photo-album-with-one-link).
